How on-chain P2P escrow works on p2pzero
Dual-lock escrow on Base and Ethereum: buyer locks price + 10%, seller locks a deposit tier. Funds move only with 2-of-3 signatures.
p2pzero is a peer-to-peer marketplace where money never sits on our servers. Every trade uses a public smart contract on Base or Ethereum.
Dual lock before chat
- Buyer locks the product price plus a 10% buffer in USDC or ETH.
- Seller locks a deposit (25% at New tier, down to 10% with reputation) before the listing goes live.
- Encrypted XMTP chat opens only after both locks are confirmed on-chain.
2-of-3 settlement
Release, mutual end, or exit paths need signatures from any two of: buyer, seller, or ARBITER. The contract owner cannot drain escrow.
Minimum trade
Trades start at $100 equivalent. Fees are shown in your wallet before you sign — success fee is 7% per side on completed deals.
